Scenarios driven off of key market assumptions and industry trends driving IT spending through 2010 including SOA, Open Source, SaaS and IT Utility adoption rates - as well as new and disruptive market forces and players at the business process layer. 

Business Transformation Utility Opportunity Analysis

Assessment of new market opportunity based on executive interview with 75+ ($1B+ size) divisional CEOs and direct reports (globally) concerning market readiness and opportunity testing of a new business process solution concept / business service with transformational elements across three vertical markets.

Real-Time Infrastructure

Comprehensive product launch and go-to-market strategy assignment, including extensive upfront research (web survey, executive interviews) and opportunity analysis relative to customer / market requirements, competitive analysis and market messaging and positioning. Follow-on phases included development of a positioning / solution guide (for sales training) and the publication of a (Saugatuck-branded) CIO-level thought leadership report used as a marketing lead generation tool.

SOA Adoption Scenarios

Development of a 3-to-5 year SOA adoption scenario, industry forecasts and profiles, with strategy and positioning implications for a leading packaged business application provider. Global web survey in partnership with BusinessWeek Research of over 400 senior IT decision makers in $1B+ size companies across six industries. Follow-on executive interviews with 30 participants.  

Enterprise Performance Management Partner and Alliance Roadmap

Assessment and prioritization of customer and market requirements for enterprise performance management solutions, as well as the development of a partner and alliance ecosystem and roadmap, including go-to-market and value proposition recommendations.

Software-as-Service and Utility Computing

Several consulting engagements related to strategy development, market assessment and opportunity analysis concerning emerging trends and business model implications of Utility Computing and Software-as-Service. Conducted US-focused web survey with over 200 senior IT and Finance decision makers. 

Thought Leadership "Insights"

Executive research program focusing on the business and IT investment priorities of Public Sector CIOs and senior business executives (e.g., govt., higher ed, healthcare, life sciences). Fact-based research (web survey, in-depth interviews) supported the development of sector-specific market insights, implications and recommendations. Go-to-market and messaging strategy assignment for a market leader of information-based products and services to the Life Sciences and Pharma industries, including the development of an integrated value proposition and market segmentation model across three unique buyer segments.

CIO and CFO: Outlook 2006

Analysis of key business and IT spending priorities for mid-to-large company CIOs and CFOs for a leading ISV. Created assessment frameworks, leveraging Saugatuck primary research into senior executive buyer behavior.

Identification of key IT market trends and development of objective market and competitive vendor scenarios over a three year timeframe for a leading business application provider, with recommendations for each scenario. Final report presented to BOD.
